Door appears to close on one potential transfer destination for former Vols DL Tyler Baron
Randy Sartin-USA TODAY Sports

It looks like door has closed on one potential transfer destination for former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman Tyler Baron.

Baron initially transferred to Ole Miss this offseason before eventually landing at Louisville (Baron re-entered the transfer portal after going through spring practice with the Cardinals).

Because of that decision to initially transfer to Ole Miss, Baron apparently can't transfer to LSU -- a program that showed legitimate interest in the former Vol -- because of the SEC's rule about no intraconference transfers during the spring window.

From 247Sports: There had been some interest between LSU and Baron, but word is that Baron signed an SEC agreement with Ole Miss when he initially committed to the Rebels before instead heading to Louisville. Signing that SEC agreement prevents him from joining another SEC team.

Baron could still return to Ole Miss because of that signed agreement.

It was previously reported that if Baron wants to transfer to LSU, then Ole Miss would have to release him from the SEC agreement he signed with the Rebels.

With LSU reportedly no longer in the picture, Ole Miss and Miami appear to be the top two options for Baron.

The former Tennessee defensive lineman also took a visit to USC this offseason.
