Kevin Garnett Reveals Plans to Attend Timberwolves vs Mavericks
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Timberwolves are going to the Western Conference Finals. That’s right, it is happening. For the first time in 20 years, too. In fact, the last time the Wolves made it this far, a prime Kevin Garnett was the centerpiece of the squad that did it, back in 2003-04.

But so far during this postseason, Garnett is yet to make it to Target Center to attend a 2024 playoff game. Most people assume that’s because of his disdain for majority owner Glen Taylor, who KG has beefed with for most of the past decade+.

Kevin Garnett plans to attend Minnesota Timberwolves vs Dallas Mavericks

On Monday during the Stephen A. Smith Show, however, Garnett made it clear that he does plan to attend both a Western Conference Finals game in Minneapolis and an Eastern Conference Finals game with another of his former teams, the Boston Celtics.

Stephen A: “I mean, you played there! Are you going to go to a [Timberwolves] game, KG?”

KG: “I got to, I got to. Not only do I need to get to a couple Minnesota games, I gotta get to some Celtics games and, and, and figure all that out.”

Of course, KG attending a playoff game is not the same as it would be if he retired his jersey and No. 21 into the rafters of Target Center. But no doubt, putting him on the jumbotron would cause the roof of the arena to blow.

But even if Garnett isn’t able to make it to the Twin Cities for this upcoming Western Conference Finals matchup, maybe he can sit tight and wait for a Boston Celtics vs Minnesota Timberwolves NBA Finals? Then, he could just fly back and forth between arenas and attend both?

I’d be down for that…
