Standout performances were had up and down the Orioles’ farm system, including a dominating Double-A debut for Cameron Weston among others. Cade Povich tossed yet another gem as the Tides won their fifth straight game.
Left-hander Cade Povich allowed one run on five hits as Triple-A Norfolk beat Nashville, 7-3. The 24-year-old Povich (3-1) walked four and struck out five.
The Baysox threw a shutout while the IronBirds and Shorebirds got shut out themselves. Connor Norby slapped a leadoff home run in the bottom of the first and the Tides never scored again.
Left-hander Cade Povich allowed one run on three hits in 4 2/3 innings in Triple-A Norfolk’s 2-1 loss to Gwinnett in 10 innings. Povich struck out seven and walked one, throwing 94 pitches.

SARASOTA, Florida—The Orioles made their first cuts of the spring on Friday, optioning right-handed pitcher Seth Johnson to Triple-A Norfolk, and reassigning left-handed pitcher Ronald Guzmán, right-handers Jonathan Armbruester, Garrett Stallings and Nathan Webb and catcher Silas Ardoin to minor league camp.
